Jonathan Li joined Henderson & Lee Law in December 2023 as junior counsel after articling with the firm. He obtained his JD degree from Peter A. Allard School of Law, the University of British Columbia in May 2022. Jonathan assists clients in a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters, including contract disputes, debt collection, defamation, judicial review, and family law disputes involving complex property division issues. He has appeared before all levels of courts in British Columbia.

 

With an educational background in international politics, Jonathan has good awareness of the nuance and complexity of cross-border legal matters. During law school, Jonathan was actively involved in pro bono legal services at Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and Indigenous Communities Legal Clinic, serving clients coming from diverse walks of life. He also worked for an international investigative research firm, where he provided support to teams based in East Asia. These experiences allow him to solve clients’ problems with a culturally sensitive approach.

 

Jonathan works and lives on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of Coast Salish peoples. Outside his work, Jonathan is a committed outdoorsman and traveler, and enjoys learning different languages. He has also been participating in community building and public affairs.
